Blog # 15 End of Semester Reflection

Of the topics and information that we have covered this semester in the course, what has been the most impactful or interesting?

This question is actually a really hard one to answer. I feel like I have learned so much through the semester but to me what has been the most impactful was the topics on personal health and nutrition. I really enjoyed reading the chapter (9) discussing it as well as the chapters leading past it about heart disease. This was really the most effective chapters to me personally and I really took away a lot about my own personal health and the amount of nutrition I was missing in my diet. I really enjoyed reading about different cultures of women and the customs of each culture and how different they were. I will take away with me an open mind and an open heart about different ideas and beliefs because women of all races and ethnicities go through their own hardships and thats important to remember.

  1. I agree with your assessment of our class. I have learned so very much in such a brief period. Learning that the healthy choices we make have a direct impact on our health, allows us the opportunity to prepare for futures as healthier elderly adults. I do not have a specific chapter which can be called favorite; however, the vast amount to knowledge available makes New Dimensions in Women's health makes for a very good reference guide.

  2. I definitely agree with you about that question being hard because there are some things that we went over in the course that will impact our evereyday lives. I wish you all the best in the future. Have an excellent next semester.

  3. Hello Shenita,
We have covered a lot of material this semester. It has all been important and necessary. Whether learning about heart disease, sexual issues, mental health, or women facing horrendous issues around the world; I cared and was effected by each situation. There really is a "sisterhood" of women. I want to help women everywhere. Women who are treated with dignity and have opportunities and choices impact families and make them stronger. This is the backbone of societies.
    Thank you,
